Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Software Developer Analyst 3 who will support several projects a large federal agency. These positions will be located in Woodlawn, MD.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Systems Management operating unit, which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our Federal, State, and Local government clients. The qualified candidate should also have strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
Description of Work:
Develop and support of the network monitoring platform
Maintaining current network monitoring and ITSM platform installation
Maintaining user interface
Perform product updates, upgrades and apply patches to the application and the underlying platform
Working with different service owners to logically group individual data points into actionable categories
Proactively identifying gaps within the monitoring solution and remediating those gaps
Working with service owners to filter irrelevant data and alerts
Manage and work in a UNIX operating system and services environment.
Develop and maintain scripts written in Java, Python, and Perl.
Develop and use web-based APIs (especially REST-based APIs).
Implement web programming techniques and frameworks.
Ensure Section 508 Compliance.
Perform daily system checks, review and respond to events reflected in various management tools, perform server patch management.
Notify Government representative of issues involving performance of the application and operating environment.
Conduct system audit reviews and perform maintenance functions as required to ensure system health.
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis

Basic Qualifications for a Software Developer Analyst 3:
Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relative experience, Master's degree and 3 years of relative experience, or 9 years of relative experience in an IT field in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 4 years of hands on development experience with JAVA, Python Script development, and PERL Script development in a VMware or RedHat Linux infrastructure environment
Minimum of 2 years of experience performing analysis and designing of solutions
Must be US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.
Should have strong system administration experience (Windows and Linux).
Should have strong requirements planning and project implementation skills and be able to work with internal technical staff and outside contractors to deliver results.
A broad understanding in systems, networking and network monitoring administration
Proven ability to successfully plan, develop and execute technology solutions.
Experience implementing best-practice processes and procedures.
Experience with PERL Script development using SMARTS API interface
Experience with JAVA Script development using ServiceNow API interface
Have designed and implemented data and systems integrations with SMARTS
Have designed and implemented data and systems integrations with Science Logic EM7
Have designed and implemented data and systems integrations with ServiceNow, EMC SMART, HP Service Manager, or ScienceLogic EM7.
Strong UNIX System Administration knowledge as it pertains to interconnecting varies UNIX Operating System platforms and services such as DNS, MYSQL and Apache into a unified environment.
Regular expressions, Boolean logic
Has actively acted as the point person for critical issues that affect the server and storage infrastructure for the network monitoring platform.
Preferred Certifications and Vendor-Specific Trainings:
Candidates with these certifications will be given preferential consideration.
VMware Certified Professionals (VCP, VCAP, VCDX) strongly preferred
EMC Storage Administration.
ServiceNow Scripting/ Implementer
Prior SSA experience is a plus
