Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking aPrincipal Automation Tester (Selenium & ReadyAPI) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Systems Management operating unit which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our Federal, State, and Local government clients.
Automation Test Engineers with extensive work experience are required in defining and rolling out automation frameworks in support of a large Agile modernization effort. The primary goal of the position will be to establish and achieve full automation of both unit test scripts and functional regression test scripts. The qualified candidate will also be responsible for the architecture, design, development and maintenance of the test automation systems. They should possess a big picture mindset and be able to provide guidance and leadership to other test automation engineers in an agile environment.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the Testing team and Organization
Architect, develop, and maintain an innovative test automation system for the organization
Define automated test criteria, design & develop the organization's Test Automation framework, and develop automated tests for all functionality that meets specified automation criteria
Define Behavior Driven Development approach and tools for Automated Testing in an Agile project
Work closely with the application architects to develop a solid testing solution, working towards the future state of the application architecture
Lead complex test automation efforts using ReadyAPI, Cucumber/Selenium, and Java for large Agile software projects and identify innovative solutions to solve complex test problems
Work collaboratively in a team-based Agile environment with other technical staff, business owners, and subject matter experts that follow the industry standard Scrum and SAFe methodologies.
Assist in the training/mentoring of team members, including testers, developers, and business analysts and implement organization-wide Quality Process initiatives to ensure Quality of deliverables
Communicate automation goals, priorities, and status across the organization
Partner with Agile Release Train to plan for new functionality, resolve defects, and incorporate error injection test methodologies
Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline and 7 years of applied work experience OR Master's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience OR a minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
6 years of experience with automation testing, developing and executing automated test scripts using Automated Testing Tools and frameworks such as ReadyAPI, Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), TestNG, etc.
3 years of hands on experience developing automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber
2 years of hands on experience testing Web services (e.g. RESTful, SOAP) using tools such as Ready API
1 year of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining an innovative test automation environment including automation test framework design and development
2 years of experience with agile development (preferably SAFe), test driven development, advanced concepts of scrum, and knowledge of agile project tools, such as VersionOne
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder) is required in order to obtain and maintain required Position of Public Trust Clearance

Working knowledge of Java/J2EE concepts, object oriented design and development
Good understanding of QA methodology and strong hands-on experience developing test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing that include automated, ad-hoc, and manual testing elements
Experience with source code revision control systems Git and SVN
Experience using tools and technologies such as WebSphere, Eclipse, RAD, Fortify, ALM/QTP, JUnit, Jenkins, Gulp, JSDoc, JSON Gerrit, JSLint, Karma, Jasmine, Node.js, XML, MySQL, SQL, RDBMS: Oracle, DB2, SQL Server
Demonstrable knowledge of advanced concepts of scrum, Kanban, XP, and Waterfall
Experience with Cloud based implementation and transition to the Cloud including virtualization
Experience in analyzing metrics, identifying dysfunctions, and making recommendations to senior management
Proficient in MS Office, MS Visio, and SharePoint
Excellent team building skills, including cross-functional team building
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
