We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Digital Design Engineer based out of Woodland Hills, CA. As a Digital Design Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You'll get to Do:

This Digital Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and real-time verification of hardware/firmware elements and related computing systems for an existing development program. The candidate requires being well knowledgeable in hardware design process and artifacts generation, from requirements capturing all the way to production transitioning in support of RTCA/DO-254 designs. The candidate will possess strong communication skills as he or she will interface with our development program leads, senior scientists, engineering and manufacturing organizations throughout the program lifecycle. The individual will also have technical foresight to integrate the appropriate requirements, processes, procedures and tools as this development program will lead to the future generation of navigation, video & cockpit products.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in a STEM field with 14 years of relevant experience, a Master's in a STEM field with 12 years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a STEM field with 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with High Speed Digital Design; FPGA, SoC, and/or memory design

  • Knowledge of Test bench development, and V&V processes

  • Prior working experience on design processes including hardware requirements definition, conceptual design, detailed design, verification, production transitioning.

  • Experience with requirement tracing tools DOORS, LDRA, and FPGA verification tools (e.g. Conformal)

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience and knowledge on RTCA/DO-254 designs

  • OVM/UVM experience

  • Digital Signal Processing design and verification experience

  • Computer Architecture knowledge (bus standards, interrupts, memory)

  • Sensor designs (Fixed point logic, algorithm implementation)

  • Familiarity with QuestaSim, Synplify, and FPGA P&R Tool flow.

  • Technical writing skills on design plans and procedures.

  • Communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, upper management and customers.
