Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager, Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing Systems to join the Advanced Concepts & Technologies Division, to be based in Woodland Hills, CA.
This position is responsible for the capture and execution of research and development programs in the area of Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). Reporting to the Director of Advanced PNT Systems, this individual's portfolio will focus on system- and system-of-systems level solutions to assuring PNT in contested environments. The Manager will work closely with engineers, architects, and business development to define and execute technology strategies that can be meaningfully developed through IRAD and CRAD funding.
Specific responsibilities include: leading all phases of R&D programs, including engagement with Science & Technology customers (e.g. DARPA, AFRL, CERDEC, ONR); capture strategy, white paper development, technical and cost proposal generation; management of programs to achieve technical objectives within cost and schedule constraints, and maintaining customer satisfaction in an dynamic R&D environment; management of internally funded R&D programs; supporting interactions with product divisions to coordinate long-range strategic planning and to execute successful transitions.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or technical field and at least8 years' experience working in technology development, or a MS or PhD in a relevant technical field with a demonstrated track record of academic research.
Demonstrated experience in the fundamentals of program management and capture management.
Proven track record of leadership in technical innovation.
Comfortable leading teams of technical experts working on projects requiring a high degree of innovation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret clearance.
Past experience managing R&D programs for S&T customers, such as DARPA, AFRL, etc.
Knowledge of the Government acquisition process.
Demonstrated technical domain knowledge related to navigation and timing, particularly navigation system engineering, strapdown inertial navigation, Kalman filtering, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) and related image and signal processing techniques.
