The Inertial Products Manufacturing team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Materials Processes Technician 2 based out of Woodland Hills, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

  • Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on glass or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

  • Work with adhesives, chemical cleaners, and other chemicals commonly used in manufacturing.

  • Work from verbal and written instructions that provide detailed methods and sequence of assembly operations.

  • Perform alignment, assembly and bonding of small glass and optical components.Understand quality specifications and perform quality checks on own work.

  • Perform cleaning on various precision glass and metal components.

  • Evaluate new processes, components, products, and systems in conformance with engineering specifications.

  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

  • Conduct experiments and tests involving electromechanical and glass components within processing laboratories.

  • Work in a clean room environment.

  • Work under a microscope.

  • May be required to ensure correct functioning and identify any discrepancies.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in a clean room.

  • Ability to assemble components that require attention to detail and following a methodical process.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually.

  • Ability to work under deadlines in a production environment.

  • Ability to perform Visual/Physical work under a microscope (tweezers, fingers, Q-tips, etc.): Hand clean, Assemble, Inspect.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform basic problem solving techniques which are fully defined and available through the supervisor, coworkers, and written materials.
