Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manager, Project Management 2 to lead a program facing Operations team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Woodland Hills, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

The Operations Execution Manager (OEM) provides the required oversight to stand up a strong integrated Operations team including manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance personnel in support of a new strategic program for the Navigation, Targeting and Survivability (NT&S) Division in the Mission Systems Sector. The OEM reports to the Woodland Hills Operations and Site IPT Director. As a key leader he/she will lead a high performing team and will be responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting on the progress of program performance through the EMD phase of the contract. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated success leading a team within cost and schedule of the program work package. The position requires a solution-based philosophy and the demonstrated ability to develop practical execution plans in a dynamic environment. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, collaboration, and implementation of a strong operational program foundation with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. Essential leadership characteristics are essential as this role drives strategies to meet or exceed cost, schedule and technical performance objectives.

This position has significant senior leadership influence as a key interface between Operations and Program execution, and requires a candidate with strong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change. This position requires the ability to report at the Director level including monthly status for Operations development and execution tasks, inputs into monthly and quarterly Business Unit reporting, and oversight of EVMS for Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of implementing and managing EVMS methodologies to effectively be the Operations CAM and Operations focal point with Program Leadership and Engineering. Collaboration with Program and functional leaders to develop and nurture a highly competent and engaged team that delivers on commitments and embodies "best culture" is essential.

  • Serve as the Operations IPT Lead and CAM for Advanced IMU Programs.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Operations team (Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain/Supplier Performance Management, Quality & Mission Excellence).

  • Act as a liaison between the Advanced IMU Program leadership and the Operations team.

  • Will be responsible for Operations Advanced IMU program cost/schedule performance and risk/opportunity management.

  • Ensure the Advanced IMU HRG attitude sub-system is manufactured, tested, and delivered on schedule.

  • Manage (with cost and schedule accountability) all capital projects related to Advanced IMU including HRG capacity expansion and Woodland Hill's facility accommodations.

  • Review and manage Capacity Plans, Audit Plans (Internal and Supplier), and Supplier Delivery commitments to meet program objectives.

  • Attend program meetings and provide status including presenting weekly Advanced IMU operations status to site leadership.

  • Align Operations resources to support program tasks in conjunction with Site IPT Director and leadership team.

  • Work with Engineering and Global Supply Chain to ensure Advanced IMU material procured supports technical requirements.

  • Develop a comprehensive HRG Manufacturing and Test strategy and work towards harmonizing Advanced IMU and SSIRU HRG production.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, technical, or other related discipline with 9 years of experience working with manufacturing teams, including Global Supply Chain (GSC) and Mission Assurance (MA), in production and development environments; Master's + 7 years of experience; Ph.D + 4 years of experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with customers and leadership teammates.

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EVMS.

  • Experience in space qualified hardware delivery.

  • Master's degree in an engineering or management field.

  • Broad experience in manufacturing, global supply chain, and mission assurance functions.

  • Defense Industry experience as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Management.
