Northrop Grumman Engineer Digital 4 in Woodland Hills, California

We are seeking a Development Engineer to join our team of highly qualified and diverse Digital Design Engineers located in Woodland Hills, CA.

This Digital Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and real-time verification of hardware/firmware elements and related computing systems for an existing development program. The candidate requires to be well knowledgeable in hardware design process and artifacts generation, from requirements capturing all the way to production transitioning in support of RTCA/DO-254 designs. The candidate will possess strong communication skills as he or she will interface with our development program leads, senior scientists, engineering and manufacturing organizations throughout the program lifecycle. The individual will also have technical foresight to integrate the appropriate requirements, processes, procedures and tools as this development program will lead to the future generation of navigation, video & cockpit products.


Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's or related STEM degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, a Master's or related STEM degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or a PhD or related STEM degree and 2 years' experience is required.

High Speed Digital Design; FPGA, SoC, and memory design experience

Experience with VHDL design, FPGA design analysis

Familiarity with QuestaSim, Synplify, and FPGA P&R Tool flow.

Communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, upper management and customers.

Prior working experience on all design processes including hardware requirements definition, conceptual design, detailed design, verification, production transitioning.

Technical writing skills on design plans and procedures

Experience with requirement tracing tools DOORS, LDRA, and FPGA verification tools (e.g. Conformal)

Preferred Qualifications:


Digital Signal Processing design and verification experience

Computer Architecture knowledge (bus standards, interrupts, memory

Sensor designs (Fixed point logic, algorithm implementation)
