Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Systems Engineering Manager 2 at its Subsystem and Software Sustainment (S&SS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. The systems engineering manager will lead a functional team of systems engineers supporting activities that include modeling and simulation, electronic warfare, avionics, and radar domain areas. Programs will include IRAD, EMD, and Sustainment. This position is a dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership.
Lead a systems engineering functional team
Provide general management, motivation, guidance, and support to assigned staff including performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning
Provide technical oversight for activities performed by the team
Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups
Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and internally funded projects
Serve as a senior systems engineer to support programs and new business efforts
9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field; OR 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
Proven leadership skills as a people and technical leader, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Experience in driving a team toward meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance for programs
Experience in request for proposal (RFP) process, engineering cost development and earned value management
Able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance per business requirements. US Citizenship is a requirement. Must be able to work at location in Warner Robins, GA.
Experience as an engineering manager
Experience in embedded design including both hardware and software
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience as an engineer on a development program building solutions
Experience with VHDL development and digital signal processing algorithms
Experience with RF System Design and Analysis
Familiarization with Systems Engineering best practices
Experience with Electronic Warfare, Radar, and Avionics
