Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a qualified, dependable, and driven Systems Administrator 3 to join our growing team in Warner Robins, Georgia . The selected candidate will be responsible for engineering and maintaining the operational status of Windows and VMware systems, and will work closely with other members of the IT Operations team on the program.


  • Works under minimum supervision to deliver projects and tasks

  • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance

  • Documents policy/procedure compliance for IT systems in an enterprise DoD environment

  • Provides Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and Tier 2/3 support to government customers and other project team members in a DoD enterprise environment

  • Builds hardware and software technical solutions based on submitted requirements documents and customer requests

  • Builds and tests servers, systems, software, and hardware to meet security requirements

  • Conducts integrations and installations within the production environment.

  • Provides input on technical refresh and life-cycle planning for assigned systems

  • Provides updates on project/task status via progress tracking system

  • Prepares purchase requests and configuration management documentation

  • Troubleshoots & debugs server based application(s) and/or IT infrastructure component(s) and recommend enhancements for stable operations

  • May be required to perform occasional after-hours tasks, including, but not limited to: restarting systems, application upgrades, hardware maintenance, etc.

  • Maintains all necessary documentation to operate and maintain the equipment and/or software

  • Performs performance monitoring and provides documentation of issues and recommendations to management

  • Maintain and patch systems, software, and applications to eliminate bugs, secure vulnerabilities, and maintain technology currency of systems and applications

  • Participates in change management processes to include patch compliance and Information Assurance Validation Testing

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School diploma / GED with 10+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, a Master’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD

  • Experience with the hardening of servers and workstations to meet Department of Defense (DoD) accreditation requirements using DISA STiGs.

  • Demonstrates expert level knowledge in providing systems administration (design, installation, support, monitoring) for Microsoft technologies currently in use, such as:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2

  • MS SQL

  • IIS

  • Experience working with VMWare products or Hyper-V

  • Must be able to clearly explain technical standards and policies to non-technical employees.

  • Must have valid CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or higher)

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Active (or 90 day recent) Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be able to work on-site at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Directory Structure - Group Policy Objects, Group assignment.

  • Red Hat Linux 6.x

  • NetBackup experience

  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, performance monitoring/tuning

  • Knowledgeable of system security, operation, performance, and system effectiveness.

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
