Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Warner Robins, Georgia at Robins Air Force Base.
This person will assist with the integration, troubleshooting and testing of implemented software changes. Ideal role for someone who has the ability to take ownership of ambiguous hard problems and drive to a solution, while working in a team environment.
Software development including automated testing to facilitate and analyze large data sets.
Develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized communication subsystem applications and services, using software engineering best practices and standards.
Participate in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.
Apply technical expertise in solving complex integrations problems.
Frequent opportunities to interact with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers, therefore excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential.
A solid background in Java, object oriented analysis and design, in a Windows and/or Linux environment is preferred.

Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited university with 5-years of software engineering experience OR a Master's Degree in (STEM) with 3-years of software engineering experience OR a PhD Degree in (STEM.)
Experience developing software/writing code in Java
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Experience in object oriented analysis and design
Experience with Windows PowerShell and BAT scripting
Experience with using Parsers and Compilers
Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
Experience with customizing COTS software in vendor specific languages
