We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 1 working in our APN-241production and repair operation located in Warner Robins, GA.

What You'll Get to Do:

The Functional manager will lead a team of engineers working within the Warner Robins Operating Unit. The successful candidate will lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary as well as working to refine the hardware development process and tools utilized for program excellence and design assurance.

The qualified candidate shall also be a technical performer, working approximately 90% directly on products involving APN-241 production and repair systems. Experience with mentoring and people management is highly desirable.

The Manager will support and be accountable for goals including:

  • Create and maintain forward-looking processes which align to strategic goals.

  • Facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.

  • Leadership for support and adherence to standard processes.

  • Forecasting staffing needs and workload; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; providing employee training and identifying necessary skills for program execution; managing employee performance reviews; and leading multitude of functional management processes.

  • Recruiting new talent to fulfill staffing commitments.

  • Build diverse and inclusive teams with a focus on high levels of engagement, as well as provide mentorship and coaching.

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills along with proven success working in an integrated product team environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of engineering or related experience; Masters Degree with 3 years of engineering or related experience

  • Previous direct or indirect experience as a functional manager or technical team leader.

  • Candidate must have knowledge of engineering process, be proficient in process development as well as functional organization aspects.

  • Candidate most have working knowledge of radar systems

  • Candidate most have working knowledge of radar test and evaluations systems.

  • High proficiency in technical problem solving, to include root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring

  • Must have active/current DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a STEM field with direct experience in the field of Systems Engineering, and/ or System Integration and Test

  • Candidate should have hands on experience with DoD Communications Systems

  • Candidate should have direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership (IPT lead).

  • Familiarity with other organizational functions such as supply chain, procurement, logistics, and mission assurance.

  • Functional Management experience leading teams including Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test.

Salary Range: $109,300 - $163,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
