Northrop Grumman is seeking an IVCS Field Engineer to join our team of professionals supporting the acquisition, delivery, and life-cycle support of the Integrated Voice Communications System (IVCS). IVCS is a shipboard voice distribution system providing administrative and tactical voice communications for AEGIS Cruiser (CG 47 Class) and Destroyer (DDG 51 Class) ships.

Engineering support is required at SSC ATLANTIC Portsmouth, VA, and at the IVCS Laboratories in Virginia Beach and Suffolk VA, but may entail travel to, and support at, various locations within the continental United States.

This support requires knowledge, experience, and capabilities in all aspects of the IVCS system hardware and in functions of system acquisition, testing, delivery, retrofit, and life-cycle support. Support required will involve items that are planned for development, are under development, are in production, or are being procured from other government agents and/or procured as Commercial Items/Non-Developmental Items (CI/NDI).

The IVCS Field Engineer installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on IVCS equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products in support of ship alterations. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

Possess a high school degree or equivalent plus an accredited Trade School diploma, scientific Associate Degree,or related Armed Forces school (OR additional two (2) years of relevant experience) plus three (3) years of ICExperience, two (2) years of IVCS specific experience within the last three (3) years, and two (2) years of surfacecombatant ship construction and modernization experience.

Possess working knowledge of electrical / communications testing equipment and assembly tools, ability to readelectrical schematics, understanding of electrical concepts.

Demonstrate skills in Navy Shipboard installation and maintenance, including standard safety procedures, abilityto understand ship drawings, technical manuals, and installation packages.

Secret clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training on and experience with multiple ( AN/STC-2, MarCom, and AN/STC-3) IVCS systems. Familiarity with US Navy maintenance systems, procedures and processes.
