Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking two Technical Editor/Writers to support the USACE program in the following locations: Washington DC (need 1) and Vicksburg MS (need 1).

In this position, you will:

  • Write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications

  • Attend meetings, captures meeting minutes and develops agendas

  • Knowlegeable of technical specifications and instructions to provide research to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing SMEs, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.

  • Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.

  • Conduct quality review of materials.

  • For TBM, support Advisory Working Groups and the development of all written materials and artifacts and researches and develops White papers with the Team

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English or literature and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. May consider an additional 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.

  • 3 years' experience preparing documents, reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences including senior management in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

  • Experience in effectively creating/editing technical publications to include writing, editing and illustration as well as designs, storyboards, etc.

  • In-depth experience with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database software is required, including fluency in PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project

  • Experience using Agile tools.

  • Must possess and active Secret security clearance. US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years experienc in Technical and Business writing.

  • TBM training

  • Familiarity with APA Guidelines

  • Familiarity with technical terms, and DoD PowerPoint presentations
