We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Mission Assurance Engineer working at our supplier site in Clearwater, FL.
What you will get to do:
Define and monitor Quality and Mission Excellence (QME) program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure QME effectiveness. Is responsible for QME task delegation and establishing budgets and spend plans. Works alongside the Cost Account Manager (CAM) to support program Earned Value (EV) analysis and establish budget baselines.
Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Utilize customer and Northrop Grumman Mission Assurance policies and procedures, and industry standards such as ISO 9001/AS9100, to help realize those solutions.
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions, which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Participates as QME representative in Configuration Control Board meetings to assure compliance with established Configuration Management policies and procedures.
Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.
Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and effect the image of the organization technological capability.
Hands-on experience developing or reviewing plans and processes associated with AS9100.
Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated.
Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior.
Works with the QME team and program management team to define, gather, evaluate, and effectively present process and quality metrics to assist with program efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Ability to coordinate/collaborate with external quality teams in data gathering, problem solving, risk mitigation, and root cause corrective action.
Experience providing root cause analysis and presenting key metrics to Quality and Program leadership. Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. Serves as the QME representative on the program Material Review Board.
Also serves as the primary liaison with customer representatives and coordinates and supports product “Sell-Off” and well as responses to customer questions and requests for corrective actions.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or other technical field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
A minimum of 12 years of related experience in supporting systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, software development, software test processes, or program management; (OR 10 Years related experience with Masters; OR 8 Years related experience with PhD)
Active DOD Secret clearance
Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management experience
Working knowledge of Federal and Defense contracting requirements including ITAR and FAR/DFARS
Solid written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills and confidence to brief senior management with solid foundation in Quality and Mission Excellence applications.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues
Exposure to Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Experience in dispositioning hardware for quality related issues in a manufacturing facility that builds microelectronics
Have extensive experience in quality planning
Have participated in the Material Review Board (MRB) process
Experience in micro-electronics manufacturing
Have performed and led RCCAs on complex problems
Supplier oversight and collaboration experience
Have performed internal and external audits
Preferred Qualifications :
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
Excellent data analysis skills
Strong presentation & communication skills
Demonstrated experience in interfacing seamlessly with cross functional teams, suppliers, customers and major subcontract parts
Six Sigma trained/certified or knowledge of statistical analysis methods and techniques.
Awareness of the J-standard requirements
Experience with a manufacturing execution system such as SAP
Experience with mentoring less experienced personnel
Record of increasing responsibility and leadership supporting manufacturing, electrical, and mechanical engineering organizations
SAP MES knowledge
Experience working with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications.
Experience working with or apply J-standard requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain an advanced clearance
Strong experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Have hardware design and/or test experience
Have performed Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping events
Salary Range: $142,500 - $213,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
