Northrop Grumman Power and Control Systems (P/CS) is seeking a talented Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to support our programs in Sykesville, Maryland. The main duties of this position include:
Overall program life-cycle support, from shop order launch to contract requirements flowdown. Planning efforts to include providing support to the overall effort of generating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and Cost Account Manager (CAM) / Operations Engineering Manager (OEM) role. MA representation at program meetings, design reviews, CCBs, and metrics meetings.
The PQE will provide manufacturing cell floor support, including researching requirements, such as workmanship and design, and reviewing test data. Understanding and interpret specifications, blueprints and manufacturing aids. Creation and dispositioning of quality notifications and MRBs.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with customers (internal and external) as well as across functional organizations, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to ensure quality standards are in place. Interface with the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) group to track supplier metrics, performance, SCARs etc.
Serve as the primary customer liaison between MA and the customer, to include customer inquiries and visits, as well as audit support.
Understand our Quality Management System (QMS) and conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) for identified non-conformances. Conduct internal audits for non-conformance identification and correction. Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable standards, collect Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) and ensure overall compliance with requirements. Facilitate "zero defect" continual improvement efforts.
Possess organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple shifting priorities.
Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience (or a master's degree in a related STEM field and 3+ years of relevant experience).
Ability to read engineering documentation (drawings, and specs), interpret drawing dimensions, features, parts lists, and identify critical features.
Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).
Holds an interim or active Secret clearance
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
