We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 2 based out of Sunnyvale, CA. What you'll get to do:
The Systems Engineering Manager 2 is responsible for providing functional leadership and direction to approximately 10 to 15 system performance and structural analysts. The role is dual-hat; responsible for both functional management (20% of the time) and program duties (80% of the time). Responsibilities include leading a diverse team in the areas of modeling & simulation, system performance, and structural analysis on machinery and/or launcher programs. The job also includes management of time keeping, performance reviews, staffing and resource planning, training, and team engagement for their section.
Responsibilities also include:
Increasing systems engineering competencies through development and strategic hiring
Balancing employee needs with business goals
Provide project and technical oversight for system performance and structural analysis activities performed by the group including structural dynamics, shock & vibrations, thermal & fluid dynamics, CFD, heat transfer, linear and nonlinear FEA, and system simulation model and analytical code development
Maintain and update the analytical capabilities models & simulation tools
Provide ownership of and direction to the design processes used in the group
Provide proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process
Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, etc.

Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 9 years of engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of engineering experience.
US Citizenship with an Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering
Able to work well within a team environment and adapt quickly to change
Time management skills and a proven ability to follow through on commitments
Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline (preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
Previous functional management experience leading a team of Design or Systems Engineers for at least 2 years or more
Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, or technical project management experience preferred.
Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.
Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks
Experience with proposals and Earned Value
Experience in systems performance, structural analysis, and/or simulation modeling
