Northrop Grumman Supply Chain Program Planner in Sunnyvale, California
Northrop Grumman Corporation, Mission Systems Sector, Navigation & Maritime Systems Division is seeking a Supply Chain Program Planner (SCPP) to join our Global Supply Chain (GSC) team in support of our Marine Systems business unit (BU) in Sunnyvale CA Our business unit is a leading provider of missile launch systems, propulsion systems and power generation systems for naval submarines and surface ships for over 100 years.
The Supply Chain Program Planner (SCPP) will provide support specific to Submarine Propulsion Systems Programs as well to the Launcher Systems in the Navigation and Maritime Systems Division and will ensure the Supply Chain Management requirements are being addressed. The desired candidate must understand the all aspects of Supply Chain Management - materials management, procurement, subcontracts, material cost budgets and supplier quality in order to support engineering, production, logistics and the program management teams in the performance of their roles and responsibilities
The Supply Chain requirements are identified either during the proposal phase or in the program execution. In this role, the Supply Chain Planner will work with the Proposal and Program Teams to evaluate material and equipment requirements throughout the life of a program. In the proposal phase the SCPP will work with the Subcontract Administrators and buyers to track performance against the Bid and Proposal schedule of activities, support the source evaluation and selection process of suppliers during the pricing of all material and subcontract requirements, prepare proposal pricing inputs and support the team in the development of supplier capabilities and risk profiles, licenses, presentations and various reports.
During the execution of a program, the Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for working with members of the entire supply chain management team (to include commodity management and procurement) to monitor and provide status of material needed to support manufacturing. Additionally procurement and subcontract activities are monitored in order to report on the cost, schedule and quality performance of the supply chain for the program. The SCPP may be responsible for the oversight of supply chain activities being performed on multiple programs, including development programs requiring an understanding of engineering concepts.
Responsibilities will include:
Define and develop material strategy.
Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
Participate in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.
Analyze and aggregate supply / demand requirements.
Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
Assesse rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
Create/reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
Interface with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.
Create/release requisitions, as well as receive/review requirements for non-standard parts.
Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements.
-Bachelors degree and 6+ years of supply chain and/or business management
U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite with expertise in MS Excel
Basic SAP Knowledge
Demonstrate success in managing complex problems related to Program execution.
Background knowledge/experience with DoD DFAR environment per Marine Propulsion and/or Missile Launching and Handling experience.
Financial background in financial executions - Forecasting, EV execution, Return To Greens, Variance Analysis
