Northrop Grumman Senior/Principal Contract Administrator in Sunnyvale, California

Northrop Grumman Mission SystemsSector is seeking a Principal Contracts Administrator or Senior Principal Contracts Administrator to join our team of qualified diverse individuals in supporting the Global Defensive Systems Operating Unit within the Aircraft Survivability Business. This position is located at Marine Systems located in Sunnyvale, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Principal Contract Administrator/Senior Principal Contract Administrator administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts. Specific duties include:

  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. This includes understanding and negotiating terms and conditions, as well as price;

  • Experienced administering/negotiating all contract types (cost reimbursable; firm fixed price, incentive, labor hour

  • Good working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and US Export Regulations

-Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness;

  • Prepares proposals and customer correspondence;

  • Advises program team and management of contractual rights and obligations of the programs for which you are responsible;

  • Compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information;

-Accomplishes assigned goals and demonstrates leadership characteristics in performing daily tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • To qualify for the Principal Contract Administrator position: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 6 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function or a Master's degree or JD with a minimum of 4 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function;

-To qualify for the Senior Principal Contract Administrator position: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function or a Masters or JD degree with a minimum of 8 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management related function;

  • Advanced skills using MS Office Suite;

  • U.S. citizen and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance;

-Applicant must be a self-starter with the ability to handle complex contracts with minimum supervision and have excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Applicant must demonstrate the skill and ability to perform complex tasks;

  • This position is intended to manage a portfolio primarily consisting of commercial international contracts, as such, the ability to travel internationally on occasion as a member of a program team will be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with SAP software is a plus. Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, commercial terms, as well as experience with different contract types is preferred.
