Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Marine Systems is seeking a Principal Project Manager or Sr. Principal Project Manager for the Marine Logistics Support (MLS) Program within the Launcher Operating Unit at Sunnyvale, CA.

Full time telework may be considered for this role however the preferred candidate will work onsite (hybrid) at Sunnyvale.

The primary responsibility of the Principal Project Manager will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals. The Project Manager is the primary customer point of contact for spares and repairs, reporting to the MLS Program Manager.

Specific duties will include:

  • Manages all phases of program and project execution

  • Manages schedule for spares/repairs

  • Provides delivery projections to the customer along with frequent customer status reports

  • Assesses product issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives

  • Communicates priorities for material movement team members, quality, engineering

  • Supports or leads proposal / work scope development and contract negotiations

  • Communicates priorities for sub-tier supplier efforts and material purchasing

  • Provides upwards reporting for senior management program reviews

  • Participates in process improvement initiatives

This position can be filled at a level 3 or 4.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Level 3

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and 4 years of relevant experience.

  • High-energy strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to operate and communicate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines

  • Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority of personnel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as analytical, planning and presentation skills are required

  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Level 4

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines

  • Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority of personnel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using SAP, ERP1/ERP2

  • Experience developing proposals

  • Experience supporting DoD / Government contracts

  • Advanced to Expert level MS Office Software Suite skills with emphasis on MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project

Salary Range: $78,500 - $129,500

Salary Range 2: $97,300 - $160,600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
