Northrop Grumman Marine Systems is seeking a Manager level 2 to lead a Launcher Hardware Engineering team at our Sunnyvale, CA facility. This individual will manage a team of Engineers responsible for developing new launcher hardware designs using CAD modeling tools as well as troubleshooting and sustaining the existing Trident II and SSGN fleet hardware. The team will also be responsible for initiating and supporting hardware procurement/production and support test activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Core job responsibilities consist of the following:
Provide technical leadership and oversight of engineering staff
Assign engineering resources to support multiple programs and provide oversight to ensure program objectives are achieved
Interface and collaborate with all launcher program departments including internal and external customers
Support career development, training, employee engagement, performance reviews and all other human resources related activities for team members
Maintain proper levels of staffing through forecasting and recruiting
Champion and coordinate continuous improvement activities that improve product performance, cost and process efficiencies.

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or other suitable STEM discipline
A proven ability to lead and influence a high performance team
10+ years of relevant work experience, including hardware design.
Able to obtain a secret clearance
US citizenship required for this position
Masters degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering and/or Engineering Management
First-hand experience in Systems Engineering
Design and operational knowledge of navy programs
Five or more years of experience leading a team of 6+ members
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Proficiency with EVMS
