Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop components and systems for naval propulsion and power generation applications involving turbines, electric motors, gearboxes and generator sets. He/she will be developing new designs from concept through detailed design, manufacture and test phases. Job responsibilities also include supporting manufacturing activities on existing production contracts. Travel will be required to support supplier and customer meetings.
Knowledgein mechanical engineering principles, and experience in developing design concepts, performing trades-studies, and conducting supporting evaluations and analyses
CAD experience, such as ProE or NX
A basic knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 or more years of engineering experience; Master's degree in Mechanical or related STEM discipline with 3 or more years of engineering experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Previous experience in rotating machinery
Local candidates preferred
