Northrop Grumman is seeking Electrical Engineers . This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Sunnyvale, CA . The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Maritime/Land Systems and Sensors division, Marine Systems business unit. Marine Systems is a leading provider of launcher systems, propulsion systems, and power generation systems for naval submarines and surface ships.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled as either an Associate Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Electrical Engineer

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a similar STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

  • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Basic qualifications for an Electrical Engineer

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

  • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications for both positions:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher

  • Ability to read/write code in MATLAB

  • Ability to use MATLAB/Simulink for digital signal processing, data analysis, algorithm development, control system design

  • Ability to use MATLAB ModelCenter Integrate and Explore for systems modeling

  • Ability to read schematics and conduct analysis of analog and digital circuits

  • Ability to design circuits for sensor interfaces or signal conditioning

  • Ability to review circuit layouts for PCBs for analog and digital circuits

  • Ability to use standard electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.)

  • Ability to use and knowledge of how standard test sensors work (LVDTs, RTDs, PTs, Tachs, etc.)

  • Ability to conduct data analysis (plots, FFT, custom functions, etc) using Matlab/Simulink and Excel

  • Knowledge of how to create well defined requirements

  • Knowledge of linear algebra and the ability to use it in system design

  • Ability to conduct frequency domain analysis. Interpreting/analyzing complex data and/or Laplace-domain transfer functions

  • Ability to analyze control system performance and requirements using system models

  • Familiarity with modern control theory (ability to create/analyze state space models, specify frequency-domain requirements and synthesize controllers that meet system performance requirements)

  • Familiarity with electromagnetics

Pay Range:

Associate Electrical Engineer (Bachelor's): $74,000 - $111,000/year

Electrical Engineer (Master's): $89,400 - $134,200/year
