Are you ready to join Northrop Grumman? If so, we are wanting you to join our team as the Join National Training Capability (JNTC) Operations Officer. This position is located at the US Joint Staff J7 complex in Suffolk, VA.
This JNTC Operations Officer supports the mission of the joint force developer to meet present and future training requirements and develop joint training capabilities for the Joint Training Enterprise (JTE). JS/J7 accomplishes this mission by supporting the Services and Combatant Commands in their preparation for, and global execution of joint and combined training. JS/J7 has the responsibility to enrich and improve the joint training environment for the JTE with the goal to improve the quality and quantity of joint training at existing training programs. Within the JS/J7, the Service and Joint Training Division (SJTD) manages and executes the Joint National Training Capability mission with a special focus on tactical and operational level training conducted by Service and USSOCOM training programs.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible to advise the division and maintain the Weekly Status Update as the primary tool for tracking and monitoring division requirements and activities, and monitors the Joint Staff Actions Program (JSAP) for tasking requirements external to the division.
Responsible for assigning tasks to the appropriate action officer(s) and establishing internal suspense dates.
Assists the Accreditation/Certification (A/C) Branch Chief in the planning and execution of all JNTC Service and USSOCOM training program accreditation and site certification events.
Developing and maintaining management and process documentation, facilitating engagements with Certification candidate sites, preparing all supporting documentation, providing training and other briefings as necessary to candidate site personnel, conducting assessments of site's joint training capabilities and limitations, coordinating with Program Accreditation and Solutions Branch and others as necessary.
Work includes assignment and tracking of higher-level taskings; collating, integrating and drafting responses; managing program analyses; conducting research and historical data collection; proposing business documents; and, conducting various types of communications including strategic communications - both up and down the chain of command.
Perform collaborative analysis with each JNTC program.
Review and identify issues that limit a program's ability to provide the appropriate level of joint context for their training program, and collaborate with accredited training programs and/or certified sites to find and implement appropriate solutions for identified issues.
Track, analyze, and document solutions, processes, and procedures from all accredited programs and/or certified sites and apply them as appropriate to profit the entire joint and coalition training community.
Develop and maintain in-depth training materials for JNTC activities (e.g. Senior Leader Orientation briefings and JNTC Accreditation, Certification, and Mitigation processes training).
Facilitate and participate in meetings and task reviews to represent JNTC interests and provide input for JNTC processes.
Coordinate and communicate with desk officers, training program and/or site personnel, and others participating in JNTC processes, to complete all required documentation, assessments, and collaboration.
Coordinate support to participate in Orientation and Training Visits, Analysis Visits, and Site Visits for designated JNTC programs and sites in support of program accreditation and certification.
Coordinate JNTC Liaison activities, travel and reports.
Lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
1. Bachelor's degree
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience with joint training capabilities supporting the Services and CCMD in preparation for and in planning/executing joint training.
3. Able to lead a team or work independently and effectively with a team of military, government civilian, and other contractors to coordinate, schedule, and conduct higher HQ action officer staff actions
4. Ability to write at a publishable level, demonstrated oral communication skills, and experience in problem analysis and resolution in order to present the desired training.
5. Experience as a Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES) operator.
6. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
7. A currentSecret security clearance with the ability to obtain aTop Secret clearance.
1. Experience as a planner on a Joint or Component Command Staff.
2. Graduate of Joint Forces Staff College, Service, or non-DoD agency equivalent
