Northrop Grumman Contract Administrator/Principal Contract Adminstrator in Suffolk, Virginia

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Contract Administratoror Principal Contract Administratorto join our team of qualified, diverse

individuals. This position will be located in Suffolk, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Marine Systems business unit.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard Aftermarket contracts (spares, repairs, field service support).

  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide

for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Prepares/submits bids; contract deliverables, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains contract files and historical information.

  • Supports Contracts homeroom data calls

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Level 2 (Contract Administrator): 3 Years related work experience with a Bachelor's degree; 1 Year related work experience with a Masters

  • Level 3 (Principal Contract Administrator): 6 or more years related work experience with a Bachelor's degree; 4 Years related work experience with a Masters

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.

  • Demonstrated experience with highly effective verbal and written communications and presentation communication

  • Good working knowledge of FAR/DFARS

  • Ability to coordinate/submit a high volume of customer requests for quotations with majority at or below the FAR

Simplified Acquisition Threshold

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Recent experience as a Contracts Administrator in the defense industry, particularly with the US Navy administering high volume of logistics (aftermarket) shipbuilding supplies/services contracts as either a prime contractor or subcontractor

  • Excellent working knowledge of FAR/DFARS; Export Regulations

  • Prior experience using SAP, Northrop Grumman Contracts Module
