Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Level Missile Defense System Engineer to support the Ballistic Missile Defense International Simulation (BMD I-Sim) product line of the DE Task Order on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) program. The job location is at Schriever AFB, CO.

The Senior Level Missile Defense SME will have with broad missile defense expertise to support the I-Sim production team on an as-needed basis in developing realistic representations of missile defense systems and their behaviors in a simulation environment designed for wargaming and operational experimentation. The integration of C2BMC program of record capabilities into I-Sim is a key element of the position's responsibilities.

The applicant should have extensive experience in integration and interoperability of distributed missile defense weapon systems and sensors, knowledge of future operational concepts, and broad expertise in the areas of command and control, battle management, automated battle management aids, engagement coordination between missile defense weapon systems, Link 16 communications, and human machine interfaces.

In addition, this individual will provide technical advice to the I-Sim production team and provide recommendations to the I-Sim Chief Architect for addressing risk/performance issues as they arise.

* This is a part-time position supporting 10 hours per week.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of DoD and missile defense experience with a BS degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)discipline; 7 years with Masters; 4 years with PhD

  • Demonstratedunderstanding of C2BMC architecture and capabilities

  • Demonstrated strong experience in the application of Systems Engineering

  • Proven experience in concept development and technical support activities

  • Experience assisting in the development and integration of Effects Based, Low Fidelity, and/or Algorithmic Modeling and Simulation Solutions

  • Currently have, or able to obtain, a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Systems Engineering, Modeling and Simulation of Existing and Future System Behaviors and Capabilities

  • Integration of Complex Systems of Systems. Comprehensive knowledge of missile defense weapon and sensor platforms, and C2BMC

  • Extensive knowledge of distributed computing, experience in modeling and simulation of missile defense systems

  • Comprehensive knowledge of BMDS command and control and battle management, to include engagement coordination and integrated fire control
