Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for a Satellite Operations Resource Scheduler at Schriever Air Force Base, CO.
The planning, scheduling, coordination, and de-confliction of numerous high priority, national interest, satellite programs
Evaluating the Remote Ground Facility (RGF) downtimes and equipment outages, assess operational impact, and approve/disapprove requests based upon potential mission impact
Briefing local and external users on scheduling contingencies, recommending alternative courses of action, and directing rescheduling efforts
Rescheduling satellite contacts during Vehicle Emergencies (VEs) to ensure spacecraft safety
Building initial satellite schedule before submitting to Range for final de-confliction.
This position also requires the selected candidate to perform as a Satellite Operations Controller in a back-up capacity.
Conducting real-time operations in a 24/7 environment using the AFSCN, SOCEM ground equipment, government furnished communications, antennas, and other systems
Performing on-console AFSCN operations support
Supporting the Flight Commander, providing mission planning support, building/generating command support plans and provide initial troubleshooting to all operational problems; Implementing anomaly response plans, participating in Situation Assessment and Recovery Teams, and implementing approved solutions
Maintaining data and historical files and logs of operational supports
Performing real-time evaluation of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems status in accordance with mission requirements
Performing real-time trending analysis
Issuing all commands, directives, and other instructions as required within specified timelines
Conducing post-pass critiques with all parties (other ops centers, tracking stations, etc.)
Performing ops testing and support readiness requirements as needed.
. Basic Qualifications:
5 years of experienceinreal time operations in a 24/7 environment
Active DoD Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and pass required CI polygraph
Ability to provide solutions to highly technical problems.
Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and other engineering personnel
Knowledge and experience with STK, ODTK, Matlab and other COTS products
Knowledge and experience with satellite command & control theories and methodologies
Ability to travel on occasion to customer locations
Bachelors in Engineering, Aerospace, Math or related field
Experience with project management and requirements analysis and requirements management
Knowledge in AFSCN and Comm systems and topology
Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
