Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Satellite Operations Technical Trainer or Principal Satellite Operations Technical Trainer based out of Schriever AFB, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance.

  • The Satellite Operations Technical Trainer will provide high-quality training to military and contract operational & engineering personnel on various operational systems & processes in the operational satellite operations center using instructional systems development (ISD) processes for consolidated S-band contact operations resources for classified satellite systems commanding, telemetry, & tracking via the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN)

  • Oversee progress of trainees, create & maintain all training documentation, maintain training records, oversee the training pertaining to the integration of new systems, & updates to all systems

  • Participate in various engineering & problem working groups to resolve procedural & training related issues

  • Assist with development & review of operational satellite command & control procedures

  • Maintain satellite operations controller certification for multiple classified programs

  • Attend technical interchange meetings with the team members and other program personnel, and represent the customer in matters pertaining to operations training

  • Provide status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks.

  • Provide document review and resolve technical systems engineering and integration issues regarding operations training and support to various operations status, engineering review, & problem boards

This requisition may be filled at either a Satellite Operations Technical Trainer or Principal Satellite Operations Technical Trainer.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BQs for a Satellite Operations Technical Trainer are: Education/Experience: 3 Years with Bachelors; 1 Years with Masters; 5 with an Associates; or 7 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • BQs for a Principal Satellite Operations Technical Trainer are: Education/Experience: 6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters; 8 Years with an Associates; or 10 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

  • Willing and able to submit and obtain an CI Polygraph

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite

  • Experience creating training products.

  • Able to collaborate in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

  • Ability to efficiently and independently multi-task in an extremely demanding and deadline-driven environment

  • Knowledge and experience working with satellite operations and satellite ground systems

  • Ability to interface effectively with management, and other engineering personnel
