Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Network Monitoring Technician 2-Network Monitoring Analyst (24-045) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The selected candidate will be part of a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and performs daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC network systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment.

Essential Functions:

  • The candidate will provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC network hardware and software.

  • Sound knowledge of Network concepts: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, network management, and monitoring.

  • Knowledge of management and monitoring tools and techniques for various network infrastructure components and services.

  • Must possess knowledge of monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytic tools, as well as virtualization technologies such as VMWare vCenter and vSphere.

  • Practical experience with remote access software like SSH, RDP, FTP, and SCP.

  • Possess knowledge and experience of OSPF, Cisco IOS, and JUNOS commands and troubleshooting.

  • Experience in Windows Server maintenance.

  • Document and report all events/issues to the CWO and receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, tests, and real-world events.

  • Assist in all network hardware/software installations directed by the local SMEs and create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO.

  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.

  • Must work collaboratively in a team environment-proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Basic Qualifications:

Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable.

  • An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

  • 2 years with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 6 years experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)

  • Position requires rotating 24x7 shift work - the candidate will be assigned to a 12-hour shift, which mission requirements will determine. Some substitute rotation during off-shifts, including nights and weekends, will be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.

  • Knowledge and practical experience in the usage of network management tools

  • Familiarity with encryption devices, specifically TACLANEs

  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix Server maintenance.

  • Experience in liaising with other DoD Agencies and associated network operations organizations.

Salary Range: $48,200 - $80,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
