We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Systems Engineer or Sr Principal Systems Engineer based out of San Jose, CA.
This is insupport of our Southern California Space Park Center of Excellence, specifically Mission Engineering and Operations Organization in SSSD. Project roles span all phases from new business acquisition, and IRAD(Internal Research)/technology development to established programs.
Multiple roles are available throughout the product development life-cycle of our programs with emphasis in one of the following disciplines:
Space System Physical and Functional Architecture Development
Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
Thread Engineering
Model Based System Engineering
Orbital Analysis/Determination
System Integration
Test Planning/Execution
Ground Systems Engineering
Tool Development
Site Installation
Interface Validation
System Activation
System Operation
System Maintenance and Turnover
This position may be filled as a Principal Systems Engineer or Sr Principal Systems Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 3 + years of engineering experience
Active DoD Top Secret/SSBI and/or active SCI
SSBI investigation within the last 5 years
Must have a strong understanding of one or more of the following skills:
Space System Physical and Functional Architecture Development
Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
Thread Engineering
Model Based System Engineering
Orbital Analysis/Determination
System Integration
Test Planning/Execution
Ground Systems Engineering
Tool Development
Site Installation
Interface Validation
System Activation
System Operation

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 7 + years of engineering experience
Active DoD Top Secret/SSBI and/or active SCI
SSBI investigation within the last 5 years
Must have a strong understanding of one or more of the following skills:

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering
Experience working on aircraft or spacecraft systems
Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements
Experience in subsystem, payload, or system integration
Experience using DOORS, Cameo
Strong People and Technical Leadership Skills
Excellent communication Skills (upward and downward)
Experience in system architecture, CONOPs, or model based system engineering

Salary Range: $104,600 - $157,000
Salary Range 2: $129,700 - $194,500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
