Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking Structural Engineer 4 to work in Rancho Bernardo, California.
This Structural Engineer analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design. This individual will have experience in the operation of the product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.

Loads and dynamics analysis
Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 9 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment OR
Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 7 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment
Practical working experience with stability and stress fatigue
Technical experience with structural engineering involving metallic and composite materials
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and SCI access
Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Extensive experience working with design allowables and structural modeling
Possesses strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
