Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opening for a Staff Electronics Engineer (SMT Lead) in our Avionics Integration organization in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
The Sidecar Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead reports to the Sidecar Mission Systems IPT. The SMT Lead is one of the IPT's and Global Supply Chain's (GSC's) primary interfaces to suppliers for Sidecar Integrated Communication Systems hardware and systems.
The SMT Lead will be responsible for:
Coordinating the efforts of engineers, subcontracts administrator, supplier quality assurance representatives, logisticians, the cost account manager, the scheduler, and the material planner.
Coordinating and managing the execution of all phases of supplier performance including planning, proposals, new capability development, production, testing, deliveries, and sustainment.
Conducting or coordinating review of supplier documentation (e.g., technical evaluations of proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost and schedule reports, software version description documents). Reporting supplier status to Program Managers, GSC managers, and IPT Management.
The selected candidate should thrive working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in significantly diverse assignments, within a collaborative/team setting across all levels of the organization.
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 14 or more years of engineering experience; or a Master's Degree with 12 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 9 years of engineering experience.
Experience with requirements development and requirements allocation/flow down
Ability to draft and evaluate Supplier Statements of Work
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR). This PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Experience managing suppliers as part of a government/DOD contract
Experience with T&M, CPFF, FFP contract types
Ability to conduct contract negotiations
Ability to conduct technical evaluations of proposals
Training in and experience with EVMS; CAM experience
Working knowledge of product lifecycles and government acquisition processes related to selling, development, production, and sustainment
Working knowledge of repair management, DMSMS evaluations, and MRP requirements
Current active Program Access
Salary Range: $165,000 - $247,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
