Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal SoftwareEngineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
Utilize software engineering best practices and standards to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and creativity
Full knowledge of software development lifecycle and extensive technical expertise
Actively mentors others and share knowledge across the team
Seeks to improve processes and embracing change to increase overall efficiency of the team
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
Plans a delivery/release cycle to provide a schedule for a software release
Collaborates across teams to identify dependencies between teams in advance to minimize integration issues
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert or holds a leadership role on the team
Bachelors in STEM with at least 9 years engineering experience, or MS in STEM with at least 7 years experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience
Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
Experience developing software with C/C++ - targeted for Linux or an RTOS environment
Experience writing Python scripts
Must have an active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance.Background investigation must be within the scope of six years.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances and program specific accesses.
Experience with Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks or service oriented architectures
Experience developing software for embedded systems
Experience with Agile software development and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo, Fisheye, etc.)
Experience with Rhapsody modeling for software design
Experience with DOORS for software requirements
Experience with COMSA
Experience with Requirements Verification Test (RVT) development
