Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks an Software Test Engineer 2to work with our Avionics and Tactical Networks (ATN) team which is an operating unit within the Communications division located at the Rancho Carmel facility in San

Diego, California.

part of the corporation's business focus area on Communications, we are the equipment providers. Our team of communication systems experts is developing next-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare

subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm's way.

The Software Test Engineer will work on the Joint Strike Fighter project, and will support the development, integration, testing, and production of Joint Strike Fighter RF avionics products. The selectee's activities will range from hands-on assembly and testing, to analysis of failure trends, and root cause/ corrective action analysis.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or STEM related engineering discipline with 2 years experience; 0 years with Masters.

Should have significant software development course work and or practical experience.

Experience with at least one of the following; C, C++, C#, LabWindows, LabView or Teststand.

Candidate should have a solid understanding of general lab instruments.

Candidate is expected learn new skills quickly and to comply with internal development processes.

Ability to work and thrive in high paced production environment.

Able to collaborate with component engineers, design engineers, quality assurance and part vendors on root cause and corrective action for failing products.

Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong ability to quickly analyze, isolate, troubleshoot, and fix problems with RF and Microwave circuitry.

Experience with RF instrumentation and knowledge/experience related to automation is a plus.

Candidate must have strong documentation and communication skills.

Understanding of statistical process control and analysis of test data to spot trends.

Experienced working with TestStand and LabView based ATE.

Knowledge of C programming or Matlab is a plus.

Experienced giving presentations to middle and upper management.

Able to coordinate and work on a large number of tasks simultaneously.

Familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio.

Able to write and maintain troubleshooting guides and test procedures.

Highly motivated and quick learning individual.

Must be able to work well with others.

Ability to work flex and overtime hours.
