Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks an Software Test Engineer2 or 3 to work with our Avionics and Tactical Networks (ATN) team which is an operating unit within the Communications division located at the Rancho Carmel facility in San

Diego, California.

Our expertise is in delivering complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions. Our focus is on the world of avionics, radio and electronic warfare product applications to enable networked communications. As

part of the corporation's business focus area on Communications, we are the equipment providers. Our team of communication systems experts is developing next-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare

subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm's way.

The Software Test Engineer will work on the Joint Strike Fighter project, and will support the development, integration, testing, and production of Joint Strike Fighter RF avionics products. The selectee's activities will range from analyzing

software requirements to troubleshooting hardware and software release

validation.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below .

MANUMS

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or level 3.

Basic Qualifications:

Qualifications for level 2:

Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related degree with at least two (2) years of experience.

Candidate should have significant software development course work and or practical experience.

Must have experience in at least one of the following (C, LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW or Teststand).

Candidate should have a general understanding of electronics test and measurement equipment.

Candidate must have strong documentation and communication skills.

Ability to work and thrive in high paced production environments.

Familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio.

Qualifications for level 3:

Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related degree with at least five (5) years of experience.

Candidate should have significant software development course work and or practical experience.

Must have experience in at least one of the following (C, LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW or Teststand).

Candidate should have a general understanding of electronics test and measurement equipment.

Candidate must have strong documentation and communication skills.

Ability to work and thrive in high paced production environments.

Familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experienced working with PXI-based based ATE using TestStand and LabView.

Experience with RF instrumentation and knowledge/experience related to automation.

Knowledge of C programming and National Instruments CVI.

Able to coordinate and work on a large number of tasks simultaneously.

Understanding of statistical process control and analysis of test data to spot trends.

Experienced giving presentations to middle and upper management.

Able to write and maintain troubleshooting guides and test procedures.

Ability to learn new skills quickly and comply with internal software development processes.

Able to work with systems engineers, design engineers, test engineers, quality assurance and technicians for delivering a quality product.
