Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in San Diego, CA has an opening for a Senior Test Engineer.This is a second shift position, hours are 2PM-12PM PST. The selected candidate will be a part of the software qualification test team who will be developing, dry running, executing test procedures to verify software requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible fordevelopment and execution of software test cases to verify subsystemfunctional requirements.

  • The ideal candidateis detail oriented, organized, and able to learn challenging conceptsquickly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Developing robustnominal & off-nominal software test cases centered on improving theuser experience

  • Work independently tomeet deadlines while managing multiple projects at once.

  • The candidate willalso be expected to actively seek opportunities for process improvement.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels. As a senior member of the team, the candidate will also be expected to lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and teach best practices in software integration & verification.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree ina STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline froman accredited university and 5+ years of experience.

  • An active in-scopeDoD Top Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain program access

  • Experience withWindows/Linux operating systems & Virtual Machines (VMs)

  • Solid understandingof the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology

  • 2+ years ofprofessional experience in an embedded software development or QC/testrole

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 yearsof engineering experience or 3 years with a Master's Degree

  • Experienceusing software test automation tools/frameworks

  • Experiencewith IBM Rational tool suite (DOORS and ClearQuest)

  • Experiencewith Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Git, Confluence)

  • Experiencewith Java, C++, or Python
