Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aSenior Communications Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. As part of this organization you will join a team of talented Comms engineers to performdesign,integration, and testingof Communication systemsfor Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in San Diego, CA. You will have exposure to a multitude of Comms links cover both Line of Site (LOS) and Beyond Line of Site (BLOS) links.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in a Comms field such as: Inmarsat, Ku SATCOM, UHF SATCOM, TCDL, Link Analysis, Link 16, AEHF
Proactively work with other cross-functional groups such as air vehicle, ground segment, payloads, software, quality, production, and test.
Work closely with DoD customers and suppliers.
Conduct trade studies and make recommendations for hardware selection.
Perform lab integration and test.
Author and release technical documents.
Review and provide input on supplier technical documents.
Average travel for this position is 10%.

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university.
9years of Engineering experience or7 years with a Master's Degree in a STEM related field.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance
Must be able to travel up to 10%.
Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
Master's Degree in STEM field
Demonstrated expertise in a Communications Field.
The desire and ability to mentor junior engineers.
Systems Engineering experience.
Excellent communicator, both written and oral.
Prior field experience.
