Northrop Grumman Reliability/ Principal Reliability Engineer in San Diego, California

Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a ReliabilityEngineer Level2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Resilient Network Solutions (RNS) is an operating unit within the Communications division of Northrop Grumman Information Systems. As part of Northrop Grumman's business focus area on Communications, RNS provides world-class communications with a range of capabilities spanning from quick reaction/urgent need programs to complex communication integration efforts. Our BACN (Battlefield Airborne Communications Node) program is the leading supplier of airborne networks, providing flexible content delivery solutions for C2, ISR and disaster relief customers worldwide.This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) organization. This position reports to the ILS Systems Engineering Manager supporting the BACN program at Spectrum Center, San Diego CA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Reliabilityand System Safety Engineering related activities, to include performance of: Trade Studies; Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Reliability Predictions; Sparing Analysis; Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS); System Safety Hazard Analysis and the development of technical reports and presentations

Position requires a current Secret Clearance

This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the requirements below.

This position may be filled as a Reliability or Principal Reliability Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for Reliability Engineer:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience; may consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Reliability Engineer:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or related field with5 years of experience; may consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Basic Qualifications for Reliability or Principal Reliability Engineer:

  • Practical hands-on experience performing: Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, related engineering work.

  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with System Safety Engineering.

  • Familiarity with and practical application of industry and MIL handbooks and standards and such as; MIL-HDBK-454, MIL-HDBK-2155, MIL-STD-785, MIL-STD-756, MIL-STD-882, and MIL-STD-1629

  • Experience in the use of the following software tools:

  • ReliaSoft

  • VMetric

  • PTC Windchill

  • SuperSMITH

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Visio

  • Access
