Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Program Director 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC). The Program Director is a key leadership position within the ATDC management framework. This leadership role is located in San Diego, California.
Key functions of the selected candidates will be as follows:
Act in partnership with the Strike Program and Deputy Program Manager to set the policy, vision, and strategy of the program
Ensure overall budgets, schedules, and performance standards are met
Responsible for successful program operations and program activities of major significance
Represents the program as a prime internal and external contact on various program matters
The selected individual will lead a highly technical and complex Development Program. The chosen candidate requires extensive knowledge and understanding of software development and hardware design, build and integration. This individual will lead the team as the senior management interface in developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers within the technology domain. The Program Director will also lead and manage supplier technical performance, working closely with Global Supply Chain (GSC) to ensure incorporation of unique program requirements into supplier SOWs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Direct all aspects associated with planning, implementation, and execution of the Program to satisfy the programs key objectives
Provide planning and EVMS management to satisfy the contractual SOW
Ensure primary tasking is properly represented by the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
Provide leadership of a multidisciplinary team to accomplish the SOW tasks within the program schedule and budget constraints
Lead a team to resolve technical issues within the Program
Manage suppliers to meet key deliveries within the schedule and cost requirements

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below
Related experience includes Program Management, Program Integration, or Project Management
3 years of formal Leadership Experience in a People Leadership Manager Role
Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance with full Investigation within the last 6 years and the ability to gain Special Program Access (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Engineering, Technology or Math (STEM) degree
Active Top-Secret Clearance
Profit and Loss Experience
At least 15 years of relevant leadership experience
Previous Aerospace Industry experience
Experience managing a team of over 100 people
Previous Program Management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication, plus strong leadership skills
Special Program Access (SAP)

Salary Range: $217,300 - $325,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
