Avionics and Tactical Networks (ATN) is an operating unit within the Mission Systems division of Northrop Grumman Information Systems. The business has developed and advanced software-defined radio technology for sophisticated communications in a network-centric environment.
ATN focuses on providing advanced technologies, engineering development and production for our software- defined radio programs. ATN programs include the communications, navigation and identification (CNI) production for F-22 and F-35 aircraft and production of advanced multi-function RF products.
The Production Test Technician 1will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting and repair down to component level of electronic assemblies utilizing test equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and RF Instruments. They are responsible for functionally testing electronic assemblies and mechanical assemblies to ensure quality conformance.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
Read schematics, follow procedures and apply computer skills and knowledge to resolve technical problems.
Board assembly programming and functional test execution.
Troubleshoot Failed Board circuits, repair, and associated data collection/reporting.
Troubleshoot electronic circuits to component level and effectively identify failure trends
Isolate problems between the test environment (test station, interface adapter, test cables, etc.) and the units under test and resolve as necessary
Participate with functional verification/acceptance of board & subassembly Test Fixtures.
Sustain maintenance & calibration of Manufacturing Test Fixtures.
Process Improvement - recommend manufacturing test fixture improvements driving yield improvement.
Identify & Communicate negative yield and repair action trends requiring analysis.
Follow production material control and disposition methods, policies and practices.
An Associates Degree in a technical discipline with1 year of experience with detailed troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuit boards. (Technical military training/education or an additional3 years of experience with troubleshooting electronic circuit boards may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
Ability to read schematics & troubleshooting circuits: Analog, Digital, Power Supply, and High Voltage.
Experience troubleshooting & repairing surface mount and through hole technology board assemblies.
Skill/Experience using electronics Test & Measurement Equipment in circuit testing/troubleshooting: Power Supplies, Signal Generators, Multi-Meters, O-Scopes, RF Instruments, etc.
Solid skill in using hand tools in electronic board assembly & repair: Power and Torque tools
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel and Word.
Attention to detail mentality and appreciation of project deadlines is essential.
Abilityto obtain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires US citizenship.
- Associates or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline or technical trade school training.
