Electronics and Payloads (E&P) is the hub of technical excellence in the design and integration of mission-based hardware and software at Northrop Grumman's Autonomous Design Center of Excellence in Rancho Bernardo, California.
As a member of the E&P team, you will work with engineers and technicians across all disciplines to support one of the following technical specialty areas: Mission and Project Engineering, RF Communications, IP Networks, Data Infrastructure, Advanced Sensors, Avionics Engineering, Ground Control Stations, Stores Management, or Electronic Warfare.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Networks Communications Engineer.
Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Understanding and wide application of technial principle, theories, and concepts in the filed. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions should be imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
Controbutes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Frequent inter-organizational and some outside customer contacts. Will represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
Works under general supervision and contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relative experience OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of relative experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline.
Active in-scope Secret clearance.
Ability to travel up to 25%
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent level of Cisco Certification
Working knowledge on Virtualization (e.g. VMware)
Working knowledge on Tactical wireless communications technologies (e.g. LOS, BLOS)
Cisco ACI Fabric
Atlassian Suite working knowledge (BitBucket, Git, Jira)
