The Manufacturing Engineering Manager 1 reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Department Head and is responsible for the supervision of engineers and other salaried professionals. The position will provide Manufacturing Engineering support and supervision for NGC's production of Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (JCREW) systems along with other production introduced on-site. Specific focus is on continuous improvement of all internal manufacturing processes surrounding systems integration and test. Oversees process and product improvement projects aligned with business strategies. Maintains performance to budget and manpower goals. Enables high engagement and performance from Manufacturing Engineering support personnel.
In addition, the role requires interface and coordination with other Production support departments as well as regular interface with multiple levels of management. Basic knowledge of Shop Floor Control Systems is desired. Background in supervising technical disciplines such as Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering is a plus. Candidate must have proficient writing, presentation, and team skills as well as the ability to conduct presentations to upper management.
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's related discipline with 3 years of experience; or PHD with 0 years of experience.
6 Sigma / Lean professional certification and/or proven experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and Power Point.
Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret clearance
MS in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related technical field.
Prior experience leading Lean or 6 Sigma initiatives.
Working experience in SAP.
Project planning and management experience for moderately complex tasks.
Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Experience with SAP or other shop floor control system.
