The Autonomous Design Center of Excellence in San Diego, CAhas an opening for a Specialty Managerfor Payloads Engineeringto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA. As the Payloads Specialty Manager, you will manage a team of engineersthatare working indevelopment, production, and operational support activities across multiple business areas. The Payloads team your managing will work with advanced subsystems such as FLIR, Radar, Weapons Carriages, EO/IR, Full Motion Video, Mission Management, and Data Recording.
Provide functional management for a team of payloads engineers Tasks include providing performance feedback, training,career development, mentoring, and technical direction.
Serve as the focal point for all Payloads activity in the Department.
Responsible forensuring proper staffing levels are maintained for current work.
Maintain a pipeline of talented engineers to ensure future contracts are staffed with properly trained workforce.
Work with Product Managers to define product roadmaps and develop detailed Integrated Master Schedules that are both aggressive and achievable.
Present detailed status reports and metrics to management.
Providing estimates for proposals and new business opportunities.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
Must have 5 years of engineering experience
Interim DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher with the ability to obtain Special Program Access.
Master's Degree in Engineering or Management/Leadership
Extensive experience with one or more payload subsystems or technologiessuch as FLIR, EO/IR, Signal Intelligence, Full Motion Video, Mission Management,Carriage Systems, or Data Recorders.
Extensive experience inpayload integration
Prior Management Experience
Experience managing a supplier
Proven success as a team lead
