Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Manager 3 Category Management to join our qualified, diverse individuals within our organization. This leadership role is remote with the ability to go onsite in Melbourne, Florida, Redondo Beach, California, Rancho Bernardo, California, Clearfield, Utah, El Segundo, California or Palmdale, California.

Responsibilities:

The Category Management Manager ensures the category management organization aligns to the business’ overall goals by incorporating Division/Program goals, affordability targets, and schedules with category management activities. The Manager’s responsibilities include integrating corporate efforts, category technical capabilities, and programs forecasts/opportunities to ensure the sector’s category management efforts are proactive and strategic.

In this role, the selected candidate, individually or through their team, will be expected to:

  • Coach and develop a geographically diverse and remote team

  • Define and develop sector-level category strategies

  • Support category strategy development for early lifecycle programs

  • Source various categories across multiple programs

  • Enable proactive risk identification and execute mitigation plans

  • Manage supplier partnerships

  • Support cross-program category budget and define cost objectives

  • Execute creative strategic agreements and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.

  • Understand engineering, production, and quality requirements as they relate to establishing statements of work and supplier agreements

  • Create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers

  • Drive new affordability opportunities and developments across the Sector

  • Support sector initiatives/ special projects as required

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Category Management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, sustainment, proposals, procurement OR a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, sustainment, proposals, procurement

  • Must have experience leading a team

  • Must have FAR and DFARS experience

  • Must have previous experience in Supply Chain

  • At minimum, the ability to obtain an active DoD Secret level clearance to apply and to start the role, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of sector categories, including a solid understanding of engineering/technical requirements

  • Ability to understand engineering practices and work within the technology arena to further the connection between the technology roadmaps and Global Supply Chain

  • Ability to plan schedule and arrange activities to accomplish objectives

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to model and promote a strong sense of engagement, teamwork and cooperation

  • Experience building teams and interfacing/ collaborating with Programs and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Significant experience managing supply chain risk

  • Budgeting experience and EVM knowledge

Salary ranges will be dependent upon where the position is based and follows our company geographic salary bands aligned with position. Specific salary offer for candidate selected will be commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $141,900 - $246,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
