Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manager, Material Planning Control I based out of San Diego, CA .
What You'll get to Do:
Where Technology and Teamwork come together...The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Avionics and Tactical Networks (ATN) which is an operating unit within the Communications division of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems.
Our expertise is in delivering complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions. Our focus is on the world of avionics, radio and electronic warfare product applications to enable networked communications. As part of the corporation's business focus area on Communications, we are the equipment providers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage the day to day operations of the material organization
Interface with planning, scheduling, procurement, engineering and programs
Coordinate reviews and presentations
Business rhythms including status reporting of material demands, acquisitions and cost
Staff resource planning including identification of critical skill needs to support business growth with the department
Identify, champion and/or lead process improvement initiatives related to SAP/MRP execution and planned growth
Maintenance and improvement of material processes including procedural updates, interface with development programs and improved hand offs from development to production
Communicate and collaborate with both customers and team members
Work in a fast paced manufacturing environment and test processes for electronic equipment from receiving through inspections, manufacturing, test, shipping and billing
Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply Chain/related field and 5 years' experience; Additional consideration of Associates degree with7 years experience or minimum a of 10 years experience in lieu of a BS degree.
Must have a minimum of 1-3 years manufacturing/supply chain leadership experience to include managing, developing and leading a direct staff.
Must have familiarity with MRP systems, such as, SAP
Experience in a manufacturing, material management, shipping, receiving or supply chain environment
Computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office tools
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Prior training in Six Sigma and/or Lean principles with application to materials, manufacturing, engineering and business process improvement
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Proficiency with SAP
Analytical ability to review data for trends and opportunities for process improvement
Experience with FAR, DFAR and MMAS requirements
A balanced understanding of the engineering and manufacturing processes
Experience in electronics manufacturing is a plus
Possesses an active Secret Clearance
