This position is for a Senior Database Administration Engineer. The position supports strategic technical-level leadership for data definition, data modeling, data architecture, physical and logical database design, data quality and data management standards. The successful candidate will collaborate on tasks related to database design and administration and will primarily responsible for the installation, enhancement, and maintenance of large-scale (TB) Oracle databases running in various environments. Other responsibilities include the reviewing of audit requirement-specific data designs (conduct data design reviews of queries, stored procedures, tables, and indexes available), and reviewing, committing, and maintaining day-to-day database change scripts. We are looking for a person with superior data modeling skills, who will be able to handle multiple tasks in parallel, and possess strong verbal/written communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)and 9 years of engineering experience.
Performing database design and administrator duties on Oracle databases.
Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling
Strong understanding of database standards and best practices
DoD Top Secret clearance plus the ability to gain special program access is required.
Master's degree in Computer Science
Experience performing physical database design/installation and administrator duties implementing DoD security policies on Oracle databases.
Experience with database modeling tools such as Erwin and SqlDeveloper Data Modeling tools.
Demonstrated proficiency in large scale multiple node RAC clustered databases. Experience desired with the Atlassian tool suite of products (JIRA, Bit Bucket, Stash, Confluence, Crucible
Experience also desired with Agile software development practices.
Experience desired in application servers (e.g., GlassFish, WebLogic, JBoss, etc), Hibernate, Java Persistence, Spring, continuous integration, EJBs, or JAXB.
Position requires working knowledge of Oracle database products, Oracle Database, Oracle RAC Database, Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Demonstrated experience in the area of creating and troubleshooting UNIX shell scripts.
