Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located inSan Diego, CAhas an immediate opening for an Engineer Software1 to work on an exciting program.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Candidate will be a member of the software qualification test team responsible for development and execution of software test cases to verify subsystem functional requirements. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and able to learn challenging concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment. They should be proactive & highly motivated, possess excellent written & oral communication skills, and be able to work independently to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects at once. The candidate will also be expected to actively seek opportunities for process improvement.
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
Active Top Secret Department of Defense Security Clearance
6+ months of professional experience in an embedded software development or Quality Control/test role
Experience with Linux & Windows operating systems
Experience with virtual machines (VMs)
Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology
Experience using GUI test automation tools/frameworks
Experience with Java, C++, or Python
