Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) is looking for Quality Engineer 4 to support a program located in San Diego, CA facility.
Supplier Quality Program Lead for the Global Hawk/ROK and NATO programs, responsible for assuring effective process execution and program support.
Interfaces with San Diego Design Center of Excellence (SDDCoE) functional organizations/leadership, suppliers and field personnel to coordinate effective issue resolution.
Participates in site Preventive Corrective Action Boards (PCABs), Program reviews, and Customer meetings as the Supplier Quality (SQ) representative.
Maintains Point-of-Contact responsibilities for all processes supporting Global Hawk/ROK, NATO or any other AtS activity (e.g., support facilitation of supplier conferences/symposiums, initiation/coordination of supplier Quality Improvement Plans, etc.), as needed.
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Perform or facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) for Quality Management System (QMS) non-compliance.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Develop Supplier Quality support estimates for Proposals or any other support requirements associated with SQ activities.
Familiarity with Cost and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements/analysis.
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies. Working knowledge of SAP and MES also required.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 14 years of Quality experience
Working knowledge of SAP and MES.
Familiarity with Earned Value, labor estimating, and proposals
Experience with presenting to Program and Customer Executing Leadership
