Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The qualified applicant will perform both qualitative and quantitative performance evaluation of data produced by various imaging and non-imaging sensors integrated onto high altitude unmanned reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft.As part of your assignment, you will work as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT), working across internal and external organizations involving system development, production, test and operational aircraft.

Essential Functions:

  • Review, analyze and evaluate imaging and non-imaging sensor performance following developmental test, acceptance test and operational flights and prepare performance reports.

  • Provide support for ground and flight testing.

  • Assess whether sensor performance meets requirements expected by customer.

  • Perform post flight test data reduction and disseminate flight test products to stakeholders for development, integration, analysis and verification.

  • Investigate and disposition sensor anomalies experienced in flight.

  • Participate in periodic meetings with customer, subcontractors and partners spanning multiple disciplines such as test, systems, software, hardware, air vehicle, quality, data management and product support.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university.

  • Minimum 2 years of STEM related experience (0 years with a Master's degree).

  • Current In Scope DoD Secret clearance required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.

  • Experience with Discrete Signal Processing, Image Processing, Statistics, Detection or Estimation.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of programming and experience in C, C++, MATLAB or Python.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited direction within the scope of an assignment and use independent judgment in determining methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with Sensor Systems/EOIR/Radar
