The Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector with the San Diego Autonomous Design Center of Excellence (AD COE) is seeking a Tech Fellow Engineer to join its growing and changing team!
The Tech Fellow for Advanced Communications (UAS) will be a technical leader in delivering innovative and effective ground and airborne mission and UAS control communication solutions for our system operators' current and emerging missions by utilizing industry leading processes and tools.
From the legacy Global Hawk to new platforms, NGAS systems are used by US and International customers in operations all around the worldevery day. Our team of Engineers and Technicians are continually expanding mission capabilities by developing and delivering products such as: avionics and airborne payloads, UAS ground stations, and integrated and deployed networks with advanced digital secure communications.

The successful candidate will:

Serves as the leader of a key technology on a program or multiple similar programs.
Is called upon to participate on unrelated programs or proposals requiring the area of technical expertise.
The leader is expected to set a vision and goals for the organization consistent with higher level guidance and achieve measurable progress toward those goals.
This is an appointed position; entry is available only through documented review and approval by executive engineering management.
This position will serve as a recognized expert in the technical field of avionics and communications and will be viewed as a technical leader by customers, peers and subordinates.
Location of position is at Rancho Bernardo, CA (San Diego). Position requires approximately 10-25% travel.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Minimum of 20+ Years of Aerospace or Defense Engineering Experience with Bachelors in Science; 18+ Years with Masters; 15+ Years with PhD
Progressive responsibilities in aerospace or defense industry
Possess technical discipline credibility to provide "backstop" support to programs as required on behalf of team members
Must have in scope Secret Clearance.
Top Secret/SCI level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years
Knowledge of systems engineering, communication systems, networks, and/or software development processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks
