Northrop Grumman is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer 1 . This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in San Diego, CA.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Avionics and Tactical Networks (ATN) operating unit within the Communications division. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with other engineers, technicians and internal customers

Roles and Responsibilities:

Assignments may include:

  • Activities will range from hands-on assembly and testing, to analysis of failure trends, and root cause/ corrective action.

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.

  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.

  • Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.

  • Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

  • And responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution

  • Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher

  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment
